Another Roman Catholic who doesn't know the Gospel

We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom 2:12) And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment. (Heb 9:27)

We cannot pay back any of our possessions as penality. The Bible says,"None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption." Psalms 49:7-9

Then How can a man be justified before the Holy God which dwells in the most holy place and have the eyes which cannot see sin?
Let us examine ourself, (Exodus 20)

• Thou shalt not kill.  (Ex 20:13)

Mat 5:21,22
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca ("You fool!"), shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

• “You shall not commit adultery. (Exo 20:14)

Mat 5:28  But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

• Thou shalt not steal. (Exo 20:15)

Rev 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

As your debt is like a mountain above your whole life, you are worthy to be cast into the Lake of fire forever.

Is there a way to escape the judgment.
Yes, Jesus Crist is the way to escape Hell and enter Heaven.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God sent His only begotten Son to be bruised for our sins (iniquities). Jesus Christ by died on the Cross by shedding all His blood to pay all your depts in full to redeam you. He was buried. But He arose from the dead as He already said and proved His diety. (1 Cor 15:1-4, 1 Cor 7:23, Mat 26:61)

Then, How can we be saved?

Act 16:30,31
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

The Bible promises, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus" (Rom 8:1)

Rom 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Ed Lueck: Would you want to slip back in time 40 or 50 years?

IF YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SLIP BACK IN TIME 40 OR 50 YEARS WOULD IT BE TO YOU A BENEFIT?

I ask this because I clearly remember my wild 20s, before I came to know Jesus Christ as my Friend, LORD, and Saviour!
Before I really knew my Jesus, I did a lot of crazy things.  I totalled three automobiles, never being injured.  I had many girlfriends, owned my own house, and had a teaching job.

But something was missing in my life!  I didn't know the LORD who created me yet was still looking out for me because He KNEW that one day I would receive Him as my Friend and Saviour.  In all my last 25 years of trouble, I've never had a better Friend!

Now I am much older and wiser as I depend upon the Lord Jesus for my life's direction.

So...would I want to go back to my former days and have another shot at them?

NOPE!

With all of my many serious health issues, AND God getting me through EACH one EACH day, I'm truly amazed that I'm still alive!  So are my Christian friends, who lift me up in prayer every day!  I'm so thankful for them!

I know that one reason why God keeps me going is to write these articles.  I also, as Deacon of our church, try to be an encouragement to those who need it.  So many are discouraged and confused today!  It IS a very crazy time to be alive!

Now my question to you is...if you could go back in time, would it make any difference in your relationship with God?

ONE THING I KNOW, without Jesus Christ as your Friend and Saviour, your life is STILL empty and pointless.

Though my ending days are filled with sickness and trouble, my God has never left me alone to have to deal with my problems by myself!

He promised to never leave nor forsake me!
Hebrews 13:5 "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

When you trust in Jesus Christ and receive Him as your LORD and Saviour, ALL of His promises to Christians are yours.

Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross, paying for your sins that you could never pay for, that He was buried, but that three days later He arose from the dead, according to the scriptures!  He could do this because He was God on this earth!  He did it for ALL sinners who call upon Him to be saved!

I wouldn't trade my frail life now for all of the "so called FUN" I had 50 years ago because the world was corrupt then, just as now, only WE DON'T RECOGNIZE IT!

Choose Jesus Christ to save you from the horrible future that awaits those on this earth, probably pretty soon!

No Jesus, no life!
Know Jesus, know life everlasting!

John 6 doesn't talk about Eucharist

John 6:53-59
53. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
55. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
59. These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

John 6:48-58 has nothing to do with our taking Communion. We have to study and rightly divide the word of God (2 Tim 2:15).
The Bible says, "By grace are ye saved through faith" in Eph 2:8. Then how does Christ command his followers to do a work to obtain life. No way. Jesus Christ is unlocking a great mystery over here. He is prophecying about how he is going to die.
He was wounded in flesh for our transgression and was bruised for our iniquities (Isa 53:5) He shed His blood paying our dept and redeemed us (1 Pet 1:19). "Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. (Jn 6:53)" simply means, Except we trust in the Son of Living God (the saving Gospel 1 Cor 15:1-4), we have no life. There is no need to eat Christ's body and blood. God created us Man and Woman; not Vampairs/Cannibalists. Right! How can I say this? Christ also said the same in verse 47.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47). See, who is going to have everlasting life. He that believes on Jesus Christ.

Counter argument: If you say, we have to eat and drink Christ's body and blood literally inorder to obtain life. Then Christ would have to eat the flesh and drink the blood of living Father according to verse 57.

Jn 6:57. 👉 As the living Father hath sent me, and 👉 I live by the Father:👈
👉 so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

How can it be! Did you understood these verses were nothing to do with our Holy Communion? I'm not against to taking Holy Communion. But you must know. There is no such a thing like Transubstantiation or Consubstantiation. Christ commanded us to do it in remembrance of Him (Lk 22:19).

Trust in Jesus Christ, the Son of living God for your Salvation. Believe he was died on the cross, paying your sin, and was buried, but three days later, He arose from the dead according to the Scripture foretold (John 3:36, 1 Cor 15:1-4).

Are you an Introvert finds hard to share Gospel to strangers? Here is an Article for you.

REGARDING WITNESSING TO THE LOST, I'VE HEARD FROM WAY TOO MANY CHRISTIANS, "THAT'S NOT MY CALLING FROM GOD! I'M A MUSICIAN, OR A CHOIR MEMBER. WITNESSING IS THE JOB FOR THE PREACHER, NOT ME!"

Mark 16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

Jesus Christ's command to US is to "GO!" You say, "I'm not very good at talking to people whom I don't know. "How can someone like me," you say, "witness to the lost?"

THAT'S EASY!
I have a solution for all of you who have a fear about witnessing!

TRACTS! HOW ABOUT THEM?

Use them as an insert when you pay your bills!
Give them to the waitress when you eat out somewhere!
Give them out to people who come to your front house door!
Hand them out to everyone where you buy and sell, especially the cashier!
As you're walking into a store, hand them out to people coming out! Tell them that you'd like to share some "Good News" with them! (Who isn't interested in "Good News" in a day which is mostly devoid of good news!?)

This is how I started witnessing to people 35 years ago! This eventually gave me the "courage" to more freely speak about their eternity, either with the Saviour, or without Him suffering in darkness, BURNING in flames that NEVER go out!

Each person whom you see day to day is either going to spend their afterlife in unbelievable joy unspeakable and full of glory, or burning in darkness! (Read Luke 16:19-31 for the ONLY Biblical account of someone speaking out from hell to warn others!)

When we see people the way in which Jesus Christ sees them, He can change our desire to serve our Master! His life, after all, is the reason why WE have in turn been given life when we received Him as our LORD and Saviour!

Remember, Isaiah 55:11 "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

GOD'S WORD SHALL NEVER RETURN TO HIM EMPTY! Be instant in witnessing when you feel like it, and when you don't! GOD GETS ALL OF THE GLORY ANYWAY! Our job is simply planting seeds!

The Holy Spirit's job is then saving those souls! It's called... teamwork!

Richard Wurmbrand Biography

Richard Wurmbrand, also known as Nicolai Ionescu was born on 24 March 1909 and died on 17 February 2001. He was a Romanian Evangelical Lutheran Pastor and Professor of Jewish descent. Wurmbrand was the youngest of four boys, He lived with his family in Istanbul for a short while. His father died when he was 9, and the Wurmbrands returned to Romania when he was 15.

As an adolescent, he was sent to study Marxism in Moscow, but returned clandestinely the following year. Pursued by SiguranÅ£a Statului (the secret police), he was arrested and held in Doftana prison. When returning to his mother country, Wurmbrand was already an important Comintern agent, leader, and coordinator directly paid from Moscow. Like other Romanian Communists, he was arrested several times, then sentenced and released again.

He married Sabina Oster on 26 October 1936. Wurmbrand and his wife (known as Bintzea to her friends) converted to Christianity in 1938 due to the witness of Christian Wolfkes, a Romanian Christian carpenter; they joined the Anglican Church's Ministry among Jewish people (CMJ UK).

Wurmbrand was ordained twice—first as an Anglican, then, after World War II, as a Lutheran priest. In 1944, when the Soviet Union occupied Romania as the first step to establishing a communist regime, Wurmbrand began a ministry to his Romanian countrymen and to Red Army soldiers; the Socialist Republic of Romania had a doctrine of state atheism. When the government attempted to control churches, he immediately began an "underground" ministry to his people.

In 1948 he publicly said Communism and Christianity were incompatible. Wurmbrand preached at bomb shelters and rescued Jews during World War II. Wurmbrand was a professor in the only Lutheran seminary in his country. Though a devout Lutheran priest, Wurmbrand was highly ecumenical in that he worked with Christians of many denominations.

Anyone who acted contrary to the regime could expect imprisonment or death. At a "Congress of Cults" held by the Communist government, religious leaders stepped forward to swear loyalty to the new regime. Sabrina asked Richard to "wipe the shame from the face of Jesus." Richard replied that if he stepped forward, she would no longer have a husband. "I don't need a coward for a husband," she answered. And so Richard stepped forward and told the 4,000 delegates that their duty as Christians was to glorify God and Christ alone.

He returned home to pastor an underground church and promote the gospel among Rumania's Russian invaders. He smuggled Bibles into Russia, disguised as Communist propaganda. He was arrested on 28/29 February 1948, while on his way to a Divine Service.

Richard was taken to their headquarters and later locked in a solitary cell where he was designated Prisoner Number 1. His years of imprisonment consisted of a ceaseless round of torture and brainwashing. For seventeen hours a day, repetitious phrases were dinned into his ears: Communism is good. Christianity is stupid! Give up. Give up! Over the years, his body was carved in a dozen places and burned. "I prefer not to speak about those [tortures] through which I have passed. When I do, I cannot sleep at night. It is too painful." His jailers also broke many of his bones, including four vertebrae. Miraculously, he survived. Other martyrs did not.

Wurmbrand, who passed through the penal facilities of Craiova, Gherla, the Danube–Black Sea Canal, VăcăreÅŸti prison, Malmaison, Cluj and ultimately Jilava, spent three years in solitary confinement. This confinement was in a cell twelve feet underground, with no lights or windows. There was no sound because even the guards wore felt on the soles of their shoes. He later recounted that he maintained his sanity by sleeping during the day, staying awake at night, and exercising his mind and soul by composing and then delivering a sermon each night.

Due to his extraordinary memory, he was able to recall more than 350 of those, a selection of which he included in his book With God in Solitary Confinement, which was first published in 1969. During part of this time, he communicated with other inmates by tapping out Morse code on the wall. In this way he continued to "be sunlight" to fellow inmates rather than dwell on the lack of physical light

Wurmbrand was released from his first imprisonment in 1956, after eight and a half years. Although he was warned not to preach, he resumed his work in the underground church. He was arrested again in 1959 and sentenced to 25 years. During his imprisonment, he was beaten and tortured. Physical torture included mutilation, burning and being locked in a large frozen icebox.

His body bore the scars of physical torture for the rest of his life. For example, he later recounted having the soles of his feet beaten until the flesh was torn off, then the next day beaten again to the bone, claiming there were not words to describe that pain.

During his first imprisonment, Wurmbrand's supporters were unable to gain information about him; later they found out that a false name had been used in the prison records so that no one could trace his whereabouts. Members of the Secret police visited Sabina posing as released fellow prisoners. They claimed to have attended her husband's funeral.

During his second imprisonment, his wife Sabina was given official news of his death, which she did not believe. Sabina herself had been arrested in 1950 and spent three years in penal labour on the canal.  Sabina's autobiographical account of this time is titled The Pastor's Wife. Their only son, Mihai, by then a young adult, was expelled from college-level studies at three institutions because his father was a political prisoner; an attempt to obtain permission to emigrate to Norway to avoid compulsory service in the Romanian army was unsuccessful.

Eventually, Wurmbrand was a recipient of an amnesty in 1964. Concerned with the possibility that Wurmbrand would be forced to undergo further imprisonment, the Norwegian Mission to the Jews and the Hebrew Christian Alliance negotiated with Communist authorities for his release from Romania for $10,000 (though the going rate for political prisoners was $1,900).

He was convinced by underground church leaders to leave and become a voice for the persecuted church. He devoted the rest of his life to this effort, despite warnings and death threats. He was a friend of Costache Ioanid, the Romanian Christian poet.

Wurmbrand travelled to Norway, England, and then the United States. In May 1966, he testified in Washington, D.C., before the U.S. Senate's Internal Security Subcommittee. That testimony, in which he took off his shirt in front of TV cameras to show the scars of his torture, brought him to public attention. He became known as "The Voice of the Underground Church", doing much to publicise the persecution of Christians in Communist countries. He compiled circumstantial evidence that Karl Marx was a Satanist.

In April 1967, the Wurmbrands formed Jesus to the Communist world, later renamed Voice of the Martyrs, an interdenominational organisation working initially with and for persecuted Christians in Communist countries, but later expanding its activities to help persecuted believers in other places, especially in the Muslim world.

In 1990, he and his wife returned to Romania for the first time in 25 years. The Voice of the Martyrs opened a printing facility and bookstore in Bucharest. The new mayor of Bucharest had offered a storage space for the books under former dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu's palace, where he had spent years in confinement, praying for a ministry to his homeland. Wurmbrand engaged in preaching with local ministers of nearly all denominations.

Wurmbrand wrote 18 books in English and others in Romanian. His best-known book, titled Tortured for Christ, was published in 1967. In several of them, he wrote very boldly and emphatically against Communism, yet he maintained a hope and compassion even for those who tortured him by "looking at men ... not as they are, but as they will be ... I could also see in our persecutors. a future Apostle Paul ... [and] the jailer in Philippi who became a convert."

Wurmbrand last lived in Palos Verdes, California. He died at the age of 91 on 17 February 2001in a hospital in Torrance, California. His wife, Sabina, had died six months earlier on 11 August 2000. In 2006, he was voted fifth among the greatest Romanians according to the Mari Români poll.

His book Tortured for Christ and Answer to Moscow's (Atheist) Bible. Variations of his works have been translated into more than 65 languages. His son Michael operates the official Richard Wurmbrand Foundation, an Interconfessional Christian Missionary Organization, which offers his fathers books for free.

Richard and Sabina were able to survive their ordeal through the power of love. "If the heart is cleansed by the love of Jesus Christ," wrote Wurmbrand, "and if the heart loves him, you can resist all tortures. What would a loving bride not do for a loving bridegroom? What would a loving mother not do for her child? If you love Christ as Mary did, who had Christ as a baby in her arms, if you love Jesus as a bride loves her bridegroom, then you can resist such tortures. God will judge us not according to how much we endured, but how much we could love. I am a witness for the Christians in communist prisons that they could love. They could love God and men.".

Philadelphia Herald wrote about Wurmbrand saying that “He stood in the midst of lions, but they could not devour him.”

John Darby - the Founder of Brethren Assembly

[John Nelson Darby, c. 1841. Photograph taken in the garden of the Palais Eynard in Geneva.]

On first meeting John Nelson Darby, one might not guess he was a brilliant scholar. Once he kept an appointment but went to the back door by mistake. Seeing his threadbare suit, the servants assumed he was a beggar and fed him as one. When Darby realized the impression he had created, he finished his meal and left without revealing who he was rather than embarrass his host.

Darby trained for the bar at Trinity College, Dublin, but soon abandoned law to become a curate in the Church of Ireland. This led his father to disinherit him, although the pair later reconciled. Assigned to Calary in Wicklow Country, Ireland, Darby lived as humbly as his parishioners. And he preached in Gaelic, which brought many Irish to faith. At his own expense, he built schools and practiced charity while wearing his threadbare clothes. After he left Calary, several parishioners wrote him a letter of gratitude for all he had done.

Darby left the Church of Ireland because he became convinced state churches are unbiblical. He protested a clergy letter that claimed Catholic emancipation would lead to persecution. If Christ suffered, why did his followers expect to be exempt? He objected when his archbishop required all clergy to swear an oath acknowledging the English king as head of the church. Christ, not king, was supreme in the church, said Darby. Decades later he wrote a book arguing that rites of ordination and some other practices of the Episcopal Church were man-made.

A fall from a horse laid him up for several weeks in 1827. During his convalescence, he pored over the Bible and became convinced all state churches are a hindrance to church unity. He defined the church as all true believers united by the Holy Spirit. A church body exists wherever two or three gather together in Christ’s name. All believers should accept any true believer.

While recovering, Darby also considered the Bible’s promises to the Jews of a permanent and blissful nation. Specific prophecies that spoke about the land of Israel remained unfulfilled. The details showed they could not apply to the church. Careful study over the next five years led him to develop the Dispensationalism for which he is famous. Along the way he acquired his belief in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church. His writings inspired a renewed interest in Israel’s place in prophecy. People respected his opinions because he was a master of biblical languages.

Darby was a founder of a Brethren movement. Beginning in 1827 he and a few others gathered for simple services. Later they became known as the Plymouth Brethren because in Plymouth they first became prominent. Although they set out to break barriers, the Brethren soon argued over Bible interpretation and split into many factions.

Meanwhile, Darby used his linguistic gifts to translate the Bible from its original languages into German, French, and English. He planted Brethren churches throughout Europe, Canada, the United States, and New Zealand. A fall in old age weakened him, but he wrote until a few days before his death at eighty-one years of age, on this day, 29 April 1882.

Revelation 2:11 Assurance for all believers

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death."
Revelation 2:11

Since Jesus has transformed Death from a dreary cavern into a passage leading to glory, we would await for it without fear.

At the very moment we place our faith on the Lord Jesus Christ, we were considered one (Sons & Daughters) among His Children. Ours names were written in the Book of Life with permanent marker & We will be sealed with the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption.

Some things, like inverse of this same verse Seems to prove like there is no such a thing like eternal security or once saved always saved. But you have to note onething. We are not supposed to alter the Bible. Especially, I personally have much fear to rightly handle this Book of Revelation. (Rev 22:18,19). Actually Rev 2:11 speaks about the unchanging blessing of second life which is Heaven awaits for the overcomes. St Paul in his letter to Romans writes, "...we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." (Rom 8:37) And there will be no condemnation for us as we were in Christ. (Rom 8:1) The unchanging blessing of Rev 2:11 awaits for all the believers (or) overcomes. (1 John 5:4,5) Jesus Christ Himself said "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:37) Rest in the promise of God. Don't be carried away by every wind of doctrine by human cunning and by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
