John 6:53-59
53. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
55. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
59. These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
John 6:48-58 has nothing to do with our taking Communion. We have to study and rightly divide the word of God (2 Tim 2:15).
The Bible says, "By grace are ye saved through faith" in Eph 2:8. Then how does Christ command his followers to do a work to obtain life. No way. Jesus Christ is unlocking a great mystery over here. He is prophecying about how he is going to die.
He was wounded in flesh for our transgression and was bruised for our iniquities (Isa 53:5) He shed His blood paying our dept and redeemed us (1 Pet 1:19). "Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. (Jn 6:53)" simply means, Except we trust in the Son of Living God (the saving Gospel 1 Cor 15:1-4), we have no life. There is no need to eat Christ's body and blood. God created us Man and Woman; not Vampairs/Cannibalists. Right! How can I say this? Christ also said the same in verse 47.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47). See, who is going to have everlasting life. He that believes on Jesus Christ.
Counter argument: If you say, we have to eat and drink Christ's body and blood literally inorder to obtain life. Then Christ would have to eat the flesh and drink the blood of living Father according to verse 57.
Jn 6:57. 👉 As the living Father hath sent me, and 👉 I live by the Father:👈
👉 so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
How can it be! Did you understood these verses were nothing to do with our Holy Communion? I'm not against to taking Holy Communion. But you must know. There is no such a thing like Transubstantiation or Consubstantiation. Christ commanded us to do it in remembrance of Him (Lk 22:19).
